JAY-Z and Beyoncé have once again made history after purchasing a new $200 million home in Malibu, California.
According to TMZ, the pair — who closed on the home sometime this month, though an exact date wasn’t given — actually got a discount on the secluded enclave, paying nearly $100 million under the original list price.

JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s purchase of the home is the most expensive home sale in California history, and the second-most expensive home sale in United States history.
Boasting a whopping 30,000 square feet and sitting atop eight acres in a part of Malibu known as Billionaire’s Row, the all-concrete home was designed by Tadao Ando, a world-renowned Japanese architect who is also in the process of designing Kanye West‘s Malibu home.
This mega-purchase is just the latest piece of real estate that the billionaire couple have added to their growing financial portfolio.
Back in 2017, JAY-Z and Beyoncé purchased their $88 million Bel-Air mansion with a $52.8 million mortgage. According to the Los Angeles Times, that amounts to monthly mortgage payments of $252,075 over 30 years, assuming the interest rate is four percent.
The luxury pad boasts 30,000 square feet of living space, a full-sized basketball court, four outdoor swimming pools, a spa and staff quarters across a two-acre estate.

The two finally landed their home after continuously getting outbid over the past three years. While on the hunt, they rented out an L.A. mansion for $150,000 a month.
Now, their million-dollar domain trumps David Geffen’s $85 million dollar Malibu purchase earlier this year for the largest purchase in Los Angeles County. It’s the sixth largest sale of a single family home in L.A.
But while the couple have plenty of Los Angeles real estate, they also put their New Orleans real estate up for sale just a few months after an arsonist attempted to burn it to the ground.
According to TMZ, Hip Hop’s first family listed the 13,000+ square foot mansion for $4.45 million, chump change for them but undoubtedly an amazing come-up for someone wanting to dwell in a space formerly occupied by Hov and Queen B.

Built in 1925, the estate and former Presbyterian church is located in New Orleans’ famed Garden District and has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Over the years, it’s been refitted to not only be a more than spacious dwelling but also a major event space in the city.
