While at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Saturday (July 12), Jay Electronica says that he’s recovered from substance abuse.
“I backslid for a while,” Jay Electronica says during an interview posted on REVOLT. “Got into druggin’ and drinkin’ and smokin’, but now I’m back, reformed. All praises due to Allah.”
During his performance at the event, Jay Electronica featured Jay Z during his set.
After his performance, Jay Z gave Jay Electronica the chain he was wearing.
Jay Electronica says that he had a primary objective with his appearance Saturday.
“I just wanted to come out today, clean, sober, and with my family, taking control of my life, taking control of the game,” the rapper says.
