Raekwon, Jay Electronica, CJ Fly of Pro Era, CyHi The Prynce, DJ Rob Swift, The Audible Doctor and Kydd Jones are among the acts slated to appear at The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, which is set to conclude today (July 11) and tomorrow (July 12) at 50 Kent Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
The event, which is in its tenth year and is hosted by Uncle Ralph McDaniels and Torae, bills itself as “unapologetically and undeniably Hip Hop.”
“Ten years ago we cooked up this idea of having a world class Hip-Hop Festival in Brooklyn,” Wes Jackson, president of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, says in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “Our partners at The Brewery generously offered us the parking lot of their warehouse. We weren’t event producers or party promoters. Just a crew of creative folks looking to do something different. A decade later and we are still here with an impressive resume of accomplishments.”
Lupe Fiasco, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Pusha T and Dizzy Wright are among the acts who have performed at the festival.
