J. Cole left Ari Lennox speechless as he surprised her during a stop on her European tour last night.

The Dreamville singer had a concert at the Eventim Apollo in London on Tuesday (May 16), marking the second of two shows in the English capital this week.

Near the end of the sold-out concert, Lennox started to perform “Shea Butter Baby” and got a shock when she saw Cole appear on stage to help her perform the song — much to the delight of the crowd.

“I can’t believe @realcoleworld and @dreamville surprised me at my London show like this,” she wrote on Instagram while sharing a video of the moment. “I love y’all so much.”

“Shea Butter Baby” served as the title track from Ari Lennox’s debut album, which was released in 2019.

The London concerts came as part of her Age/Sex/Location Tour, which will head to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam for another sold-out show on Thursday (May 18).

Lennox previously announced that the tour would be her last and that there wouldn’t be any European dates.

“Age Sex Location will be my last tour,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet in December. “I love my genuine fans so much and can’t wait to give you my all every night.

“Europe I love you but unfortunately there will not be a tour due to reasons out of my control. Happy holidays See you soon Vegas!”

Earlier in 2022, Ari Lennox revealed she suffered from aerophobia, admitting her fear of flying was “destroying” her health.

“For my mental health and my sanity I will not be doing any shows that require me to fly,” she wrote in June. “I can not keep torturing myself with this huge fear of mine. It is literally destroying my health.

“Enough is enough. I’m so sorry to all that are inconvenienced by this. Don’t know what this will mean for my career, but I just can’t do it.”

She added: “On the plane to Minneapolis now. I’ll be there. If there’s any peers or anyone out there who knows of a great hypnotherapist, therapist and/or fear of flying solutions, I would be so grateful. I want to beat this.”

Ari Lennox released her latest album Age/Sex/Location in September with features from Summer Walker, Chlöe Bailey and Lucky Daye.

J. Cole showed his support for the project shortly before its release, revealing he “fucks with the album heavy” while sharing his take on the lyrics.

“I asked Ari what this new album means to her,” he said on Instagram alongside a screenshot of his text exchange with Lennox. “I needed to know cuz I fuck with it so heavy. What I hear is the highs, lows, joys and pains of dating life in 2022.

“But her answer made it even deeper for me. Appreciate you @arilennox Looking forward to the rest of the world hearing it.”
