Issa Rae wants to unite the respective fanbases of Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan The Stallion – and she wants to use her HBOMax show Rap Sh!t to do it.

Sitting down with ET in an interview published on Monday (November 6), Rae discussed the conclusion of season two and look ahead to the next season. In regards to the latter, she’s aiming big when it comes to cameos.

“There’s a list,” she said. “I mean, we want Meg. We want Cardi. Nicki would be a nice little tie-around. If we could unite them… Maybe in season three, we can unite the fan bases, the hives.”

One rapper we likely won’t be seeing is Ice Spice, as Issa Rae doesn’t seem to be too much of a fan.

During an interview with Vanity Fair over the summer, the actor/producer quizzed her Barbie co-stars, including Margot Robbie and America Ferrera, about how much they knew about her.

“Who would sing/rap the theme song to my life?” she asked, before offering up clues that the artist she was thinking of was “alive” and “poppin’.”

After a bit of chatter back-and-forth, Ferrera suggested Ice Spice. But Rae was not amused. “America, no,” she said after a long, deep sigh.

After saying she “wouldn’t be mad” if Nicki Minaj, Cardi B or Megan Thee Stallion did the honors, she commended her co-stars for their selections “for the most part,” seemingly throwing more shade Ice Spice’s way.

Rap Sh!t centers around two Miami high school girls that are friends who decide to fully pursue a rap career. The premise is loosely based on the formation of City Girls, who are also both on board as executive producers.

As the executive producer of Rap Sh!t, Issa Rae has admitted that the series features some personal storylines from her life growing up as she wanted to break into Hip Hop as a rapper. However, she won’t appear on the show at all, despite her personal connections to the story.

Sexyy Red led the soundtrack to the second season with a raunchy single titled “No Panties,” setting the tone with lyrics very true to her style.

I ain’t got no panties on, gotta let this coochie breathe/ Bend that shit over, touch them toes, grab your knees/ Let that n-gga know just to see it, it’s a fee, got him spendin’ all his cheese/ I ain’t got no panties on, gotta let this coochie breathe!” she raps.

In a statement via press release, Sexyy said of the song: “I’m happy that I got to work on ‘No Panties’ for Rap Sh!t. It’s just me having fun on the beat and talking my shit. It’s just like the show: The rap girls running this shit.”

In addition to “No Panties,” the soundtrack is a mix of original music created for the series and performed by lead characters Shawna (played by Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion) as well as new songs from Rico Nasty, Kali and more. Guapdad 4000, who appeared in season one, has writing credits on the project.
