Isaiah Rashad Suggests New Album Is Almost Finished, Says He’s ‘Really Proud’ Of It

Isaiah Rashad has shared another promising hint about his new album, which appears to be close to completion.

NFR Podcast posted a text message from the TDE rapper on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (October 8), in which he suggested he’s working on finishing his fourth LP and expressed how proud he is of how the project is shaping up.

“Shit crazy [unamused face emoji] like I’m tryna finish strong so I’m finishing strong type shit,” he wrote in the text. “Really proud of the production. Really proud of the words this round.”

The update was well received by fans, with one writing on the social media platform: “I need this in my life.”

Another commented: “Finally omg we won,” while a third user boldly predicted: “This is about to be his best album.”

This isn’t the first album hint Isaiah Rashad has dropped in recent months. During a stop on his Cilvia Demo 10th anniversary tour in May, the Tennessee talent shed a little bit of light on his next project.

“I might change the title of it but I’m working on my fourth project,” he told fans in Dallas, before teasing a release date: “I don’t know, like, probably later on this year. Most likely.”

Zaywop previously confirmed that he was “halfway” through making his next album when announcing his aforementioned tour.

It will serve as the follow up to 2021’s highly acclaimed The House Is Burning, which became his first album to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.

If a new album does arrive in the coming months, it will mark a welcome change from Rashad’s previous pattern of going several years in between releases.

In a 2021 interview with The FADER, he revealed he spent a stint in rehab for substance abuse in the half-decade gap between The Sun’s Tirade and The House Is Burning.

“I was doing whatever I could to escape,” he said. “I admittedly liked the feeling of being numb. Everything that ain’t good for me. Being out in L.A. without anything anchoring me down fucked me up. You can float off out here. You can get lost in this bitch.”

Elaborating on his struggles, he added: “I was going through some petty tortured shit: from rehab to going all the way fucking broke. Instead of leaping buildings, I was just like, ‘Nah I’m gonna just stay in the crib.’ The responsibility was just too scary.”

    1. This dudes gay. Tde is overwhelmingly gay. All of TDE artists best albums were literally over 10 years ago. Rashads best album was Cilvia Demo. Kendricks is gkmc or section 80, which is 2011 and 2012. Schoolboy Qs did pretty good, I’d say blank face is as good as Oxymoron and his earlier work. Jay rocks best is Follow Me Home, 2007. Ab-souls best is Control System, 2012. Sad stuff man. They’re great music was very very short lived. Too bad we never got a black hippy album, because it’d sound terrible now.
