Fivio Foreign made a splash when he broke into the industry with his hit single “Big Drip” in 2020. Since then, the Brooklyn native has blossomed into a superstar and even managed to form a friendship with Kanye West.

On Tuesday (June 14), Fivio hopped on Twitter to reflect on his friendship with the Chicago rap icon, which apparently had him in his feelings. According to the 32-year-old rapper, he’s come a long way from running the streets of Brooklyn with his friends to now texting Ye.

“YE text me lastnite.. shit had me emotional… This shit really came from the bottom,” Fivio tweeted. “I’m really a hood N-gga from the bottom thats rich lol.. Like rich fr.. I still can’t believe this shit.”

Fivio Foreign shared the text exchange on his Instagram Story, which showed Ye reaching out and congratulating him for closing out Hot 97’s Summer Jam on Sunday (June 12).

“I appreciate big bro so much son..y’all don’t even kno,” Fivio captioned the screenshot.

Fivio first linked with Kanye West on last year’s Donda. They collaborated on tracks such as “Off The Grid” and “Ok Ok” before connecting again on “City of Gods,” from Fivio’s debut album B.I.B.L.E.. Their friendship is so strong that Ye even compared Fivio to JAY-Z.
