It’s no secret that 21 Savage likes to sing along to classic R&B records, and he won’t miss an opportunity to do so as he did recently. Over the weekend, the Atlanta rap star had an Instagram Live session with fans where he busted out the pipes for an impromptu karaoke performance.
In the video, fans can see 21 all cozied up in what appears to be his bed as Aaliyah’s 2001 hit “Rock The Boat” plays in the background. The Savage Mode II rapper began nodding his head and mumbling a few of the words before actually going into the song with full conviction.
21’s at-home performance was reminiscent of the one he gave in January 2021 when Ashanti and Keyshia Cole hit the Verzuz stage. In that clip, the Atlanta rap star played commentator for the battle while singing along to several tracks, including Ashanti’s “Foolish” and Cole’s “I Remember.”
Fans, at one point, grew tired of his singing and pleaded for him to refrain from his shaky high notes, but Missy Elliott offered some words of encouragement after 21 sang her part on Cole’s “Let It Go” single from 2007. She even said she would be down to collaborate with him in the future on Twitter.
