Megan Thee Stallion sat down for an interview with CBS Mornings on Monday (April 25). Speaking with journalist Gayle King, the 27-year-old rapper opened up about the July 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez. Visibly emotional, Megan recounted her version of what happened that fateful summer night in Los Angeles.
But according to Wack 100, who’s been outspoken about the situation since the beginning, Tory Lanez is the real casualty. Shortly after the interview aired, the dogmatic music manager shared a post suggesting Megan is lying about the entire incident.
“Not only did we say you lied, ‘YOU’ said ‘YOU’ lied,” he wrote alongside a clip of the interview. “Now it went from saying you stepped on glass to a gun shot to the foot to I didn’t want them to Kill any of us!! I’m crying for @torylanez the REAL VICTIM.
“All this needs to stop no DNA or prints on the gun and she’s still going. Guess we can call it the little boy that cried wolf. After all a #Stallion is a #Colt at birth right!! Hope that didn’t go over ya heads.”

Megan Thee Stallion did admit she lied to the police while speaking to King. Naturally, King wondered why she didn’t just tell the truth in that moment. But because George Floyd had just died at the hands of police two months prior, Megan said she feared for their lives.
“I don’t remember everything they said to me, but I remember them asking me, ‘What’s happening? What happened to you?’” she said. “And I didn’t want them to kill any of us or shoot any of us. So, I just said, ‘I stepped on glass,’ because I didn’t want —”
King interjected, “But why did you say that? Why didn’t you say ‘He shot me?’” to which Megan replied, “I didn’t – for some reason, I was just trying to protect all of us because I didn’t want them to kill us. Like, even though this person just did this to me, my first reaction still was to try to save us. I didn’t want to see anybody die.
“So, I just said, I stepped on glass.’ So when I see people trying to use that against me, like trying to act like I’m lying, ‘Oh, she stepped on glass. She never got shot,’ I’m the one who said I stepped on glass. I was lying to protect all of us. And sometimes I wish I really would have never said that. I wish I would have told the truth. But if it saved all of us from dying, then that’s just probably what it was meant.”

Megan Thee Stallion also alleged Lanez offered her $1 million to stay silent, which confused her at the time. As she explained, “He’s apologizing, like, ‘I’m so sorry. Please don’t tell nobody. I’ll give y’all a million dollars if y’all don’t say nothing.’ And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Like, ‘Why are you offering me money right now?’ Help me. Like, and if you’re sorry, just help me.”
Lanez was arrested and ultimately charged with felony assault. They are both expected back in court on August 17.
