Joyner Lucas is one of over 150 acts set to take the stage at Lollapalooza 2022 in July, but he’s less than happy with where his name appears on the festival’s lineup poster, which was revealed earlier this week.

On Wednesday (March 23), the Massachusetts-raised rapper took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with his position on the Lollapalooza lineup (his name sits roughly halfway down the poster) while taking shots at one of the festival’s headliners, Machine Gun Kelly.

Lucas also claimed he turned down the opportunity to perform at the festival after being offered a less-than-satisfactory fee, so is shocked to see his name on the lineup. He’s demanding to be removed from the bill entirely.

“These festivals is gon stop playing with me like I ain’t that n-gga,” his Twitter rant began. “Putting my name next to the names of a bunch of random n-ggaz that nobody heard of and offering me a weak ass [bag]. Then I say no to the offer and these hoe ass n-ggaz put me on the flier anyways. @lollapalooza.

“N-ggaz is on gon start putting respek on my name. For years I been getting these weak ass offers like I’m some lil n-gga. Then n-ggaz who ain’t even on my level or doing my numbers is getting put in BIG LETTERS while they write my shit hella small on the flier.! How sway?!!”

He added, “I’m the biggest independent artist period with the exception of my n-gga tech [9ine]. And I got the numbers & the fans & the [money] to back that statement up. How is it that these festivals keep tryna bunch my name up with a bunch of n-ggaz who ain’t on my level?. n-gga I’m JOYNER LUCAS.”

Joyner Lucas then directed his frustration toward Lollapalooza co-headliner Machine Gun Kelly, posting a photo of the rap-rocker showing off his black-painted tongue and painted nails at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards with the caption, “Then you got this goofy ass n-gga headlining? Smh how sway?”

He continued by referencing Eminem‘s 2018 MGK diss track “Killshot,” threatening to inflict more damage to the 31-year-old if he chooses to engage.

“someone said ‘don’t bring out the rap devil’… maaaaannnn listen,” he added. “Lol What my brother Marshall did to this n-gga @machinegunkelly is light compared to what’s waiting if he wanna walk down that street wit me. Ain’t nobody worried bout a n-gga who paints his nails. foh.”

Neither Lollapalooza nor Machine Gun Kelly have responded to Joyner Lucas’ remarks, although Kelly did like a tweet after the fact that read “From now on (really starting in 2018) anyone talking shit about @machinegunkelly is doing it for clout and is therefore irrelevant.”
