Dubbed Black Music Executives Are The Future, the paid initiative will offer five Black undergrad and recent graduates the chance to enroll in an internship and mentorship program designed to help these bright young minds make a splash in the music industry.
Over a three-month period, participants will work in several Audiomack departments, including marketing, creative design, editorial and content strategy, content operations and tech development. To help bring this program forward, Audiomack and the Black Music Action Coalition have tapped several big-name executives to serve as mentors.

Leading the way for Hip Hop is Lil Wayne’s former manager, Cortez Bryant, who also helped build the careers of Drake and Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X. Bryant is currently the CEO of The Blueprint Group, a full-service talent, artist management and distribution company based in Atlanta.
Also joining Bryant as mentors for the program are Offset and Anderson. Paak’s manager Damien Smith, Doja Cat’s manager Gordan Dillard, Rolling Loud co-founder and CEO Tariq Cherif, senior vice president of Republic Records Amina Diop, CEO of TMWRK Andrew McInnes and Black Music Action Coalition co-founder and co-chair Willie “Prophet” Stiggers.
“It’s disheartening to see that, of the 70 major and independent music companies, only 4.2% of high-level executives are Black,” Audiomack VP of Marketing & Brand Strategy Jason Johnson said. “As leaders in this industry, we must commit to hiring, developing and elevating Black talent to better reflect the communities that we serve. With this partnership with BMAC, our hope is to establish a strong pipeline of young, Black talent to enter the music industry and equip them with the resources to thrive.”
Stiggers added, “If we are serious about closing the wealth gap and building an equitable industry and society, then there must be a true investment made into the next generation of Black executives and artists … It starts with leveling the playing field and ensuring that the executives and artists coming up, has the tools, support, resources, and access to excel. If Black lives matter – prove it.”
Prospective candidates can apply on the program’s official website. Applicants will have to submit a 300-word paragraph outlining why they should be selected as a Black Music Executives Are The Future recipient and how they would use the experience to push their professional development even further.
The deadline to apply is March 4, and Audiomack and the Black Music Action Coalition will announce the winners on March 14. The program then runs from March 21 until June 28.
