New York, NY

Aspiring New York rapper and Kay Flock affiliate C Blu is reportedly back in custody just days after posting $250,000 bond. According to the New York Post, the reputed gangbanger — who stands accused of shooting a New York Police Department officer last month — was arrested on Thursday (February 3) for violating the terms of his probation.

Consequently, the 16-year-old was ordered back to Brooklyn’s Crossroads Juvenile Center because the gun he allegedly used to shoot the cop violated the terms of his probation from a 2020 weapons case. Prosecutors asked for him to be held without bail, but Acting Bronx Supreme Court Justice Denis Boyle set his bond at $250,000 anyway.

Using an advance from Interscope Records, C Blu was able to post bond on January 27 but was right back in jail after being hauled into Family Court for the violation.

“We’re glad that a cop-shooter is back off the street, but this revolving door for a repeat gun offender makes no sense whatsoever,” PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said. “It should be clear to every New Yorker that our justice system is broken in many places. Our lawmakers need to prioritize fixing it above everything else.”

In the wake of C Blu’s initial release, Mayor of New York City Eric Adams seized the opportunity to condemn the system, saying in a statement, “New Yorkers should all be outraged that a repeat offender, accused of shooting at a police officer, is today walking free on bond because judges are precluded from even considering danger to the community, like every other state and our federal courts. It is further proof that our current system is failing us.”

Bronx Drill Rapper & Kay Flock Affiliate C Blu Charged With Attempted Murder For Police Officer Shooting

C Blu was arraigned on an attempted murder charge in Bronx court last month for allegedly shooting 27-year-old police officer Kaseem Pennant. Police said the struggle ensued after C-Blu refused to take his hands out of his pockets while being questioned by officers. At some point, his gun was discharged, striking Pennant in the leg and grazing the rapper in the groin.
