Roddy Ricch is currently promoting his second studio album LIVE LIFE FAST, and one of the first steps in doing that is taking on late-night television.

On Thursday (January 6), Variety reported Roddy Ricch would be taking the Saturday Night Live stage on January 15 as the first musical guest for 2022. ‘West Side Story’ actress Ariana DeBose will serve as the host for the night while the multi-platinum artist will perform songs off LIVE LIFE FAST, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Roddy will be looking to set the bar high for the first episode of 2022 as SNL is planning to bring back its live studio audience amid the COVID-19 Omicron variant running wild throughout the country. The last episode of 2021, which Paul Rudd hosted, had low audience numbers from an “abundance of caution” with the surge in COVID cases last month.

Ricch recently dropped his sophomore album LIVE LIFE FAST on Dec. 17 via Atlantic Records and Bird Vision Entertainment. Fans weren’t too happy with Roddy’s effort on the project, which led him to address the critics with a tweet regarding another project.
