Saweetie is clapping back at her critics — literally. After catching flack for her “out of breath” performance during iHeartRadio’s 2021 Jingle Ball Tour last weekend, the Icy Girl took to Instagram on Wednesday (December 15) to remind folks she’s in perfectly good shape.
Saweetie posted a video of herself and her Icy Girl dancers — Kayla Marie Jackson and Janeeva Pettway — shaking it like a Polaroid picture as Saweetie’s latest single “Icy Chain” plays in the background. The 29-second clip finds the trio twerking and clapping their feet in unison as they attempt to kickstart the “Icy Chain challenge.”
“I heard I was the best twerker in da worrrrrrld,” Saweetie wrote in the caption. “#icychainchallenge reposting my fave videos tag me @theicygrls.”
Among the 4.3 million people who watched the video on Instagram was Boosie Badazz, who evidently needed no reminding of Saweetie’s twerking prowess. Shortly after the clip made the rounds, the Baton Rouge rapper took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to share his unfiltered reaction.
“IS @Saweetie ASS REAL? CAUSE THAT MF BE MOVING LIKE AINT NO BBL [Brazilian Butt Lift] BEEN DONE BACK THERE,” he wrote. “I GOTTA KEEP IT [100 emoji] THAT SHIT BE GOING CRAZY BACK THERE.”
Boosie also showed love to City Girls rapper Yung Miami’s booty-shaking skills, writing, “@YungMiami305 YALL KILLING THE TWERKING GAME.”

Boosie Badazz clearly loves watching women twerk — except when the show gets stopped. The “Wipe Me Down” rapper provided another hilarious viral moment last year when he barked at a woman’s children for interrupting her Instagram Live twerking session.
“Oh, the kids!” Boosie scowled as the woman suddenly left to attend to her kids. “Get the fucking kids out! Fucking kids! … Man, school gotta start back. Man, them fucking kids. These kids, dog. These kids.”
Despite Boosie’s approval, it might take more than a twerking video to win over Saweetie’s Jingle Ball critics. The Bay Area beauty became a trending topic on Twitter following her performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday (December 12) as viewers dragged her for her poor breath control, dancing skills and forgetting some of her lyrics.
“I love that Saweetie is a trier. You can see she wants to be better but her/her team need to be realistic,” one Twitter user wrote. “You can’t have her on big big SNL, iHeartRadio etc. having her sound like she’s doing karaoke to her own music. No amount of prettiness will cover a bad performance.”
