Arlington, VA

Fat Trel was arrested and booked at the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office in Arlington, Virginia on Wednesday (December 8), just two months after he was released from prison. The former Maybach Music Group artist was hit with four counts of a Revocation of Suspended Sentence and Probation in connection to a 2018 arrest.

Jail records show his arrested date and a court date at Arlington County Circuit Court on Thursday (December 9). It’s unclear if he’s been released yet.

The arrest-release-repeat cycle has been ongoing for Trel for years. In March 2016, Fat Trel was arrested for Possession of Counterfeit Money for allegedly attempting to use the fake bills at a Maryland casino. A month later, he was taken into custody in Arlington again for DWI, narcotics distribution, speeding and driving with a revoked license.

Less than a year after getting out of jail for those charges, Fat Trel was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition after police pulled him over for traffic violations in July 2018.

Officers on scene at the time realized he had a suspended driver’s license and no identification, prompting them to perform a search of the vehicle. They quickly uncovered a loaded 40-caliber pistol that was later identified as a “ghost gun,” meaning it was created to function as a real firearm.

The rapper pleaded guilty for the illegal possession of a ghost gun in 2020 and was facing a maximum of 10 years in prison. But in September, U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis reduced his sentence to two years and six months and three years of supervised release.

I look at Ross like a father figure. We’re actually supposed to be having some talks about some new situations, but it’s a lot of deals on the table.
