The wait for new Bobby Shmurda music will soon be over. The Brooklyn rap star will be making his long-awaited return with the release of his first post-prison single just over six months after regaining his freedom. The GS9 rapper set the stage for his comeback by teasing his “No Sleep” video on Instagram on Monday (August 30).
“GOOD SHHMORNING !! OH YEAAAA IT’S UP THIS WEEK,” he wrote as the caption.
It looks as if “No Sleep” will release on Friday (September 3) to give his fans some new Bobby music heading into Labor Day Weekend.
Bobby Shmurda gave fans a glimpse of the track’s accompanying video, which is directed by Denity. The militant clip finds the “Hot N-gga” rapper alongside a pair of women brandishing assault rifles targeting a man who possibly stole something from them.
“Where’s the ice,” Bobby repeatedly screams in intimidating fashion while flexing his acting chops. The video then turns to Bobby Shmurda rapping over menacing production, “I’m 23 bitch, .45 on my waist.”
Just a couple of weeks after inking a management deal with Roc Nation, Bobby Shmurda popped out to JAY-Z’s 18th anniversary 40/40 Club re-opening party on Saturday night (August 28) where he was spotted hanging with Hov, Meek Mill and more.
Earlier in August, the 27-year-old explained why he wasn’t in any rush to release music just yet.
“I’m Bizzy running round needed some time to breathe they had me locked up In the pins doing 23,” he wrote.
