Isaiah Rashad is currently on the road promoting his critically-acclaimed album The House Is Burning. During a recent visit to Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, the Tennessee rap star cleared up rumors about an alleged beef between himself and Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate Kendrick Lamar

Charlamagne Tha God wasted no time asking Rashad about his tweet that came after Lamar revealed he was leaving TDE after his upcoming album. According to Rashad, fans were jumping to conclusions.

“I found [Kendrick was leaving TDE] after n-ggas said I was dissing him,” Rashad explained. “I was on the way to my kid’s birthday party on Saturday, and me and her mom had had a little verbal whatever, and I knew that I couldn’t really say anything that I wanted to say, so I said it on Twitter for a second, and I’m forgetting that n-ggas are watching me, so I deleted it. Not about him but I’m like damn, she’s actually going to see this and it’s kinda mean.”

The tweet fans took as a Kendrick Lamar diss read, “everybody emotional. u not that special. quit embarrassing us.” Rashad realized where the confusion lied, deleted his tweet, and issued another one explaining he wasn’t dissing K Dot.

Kendrick Lamar Announces Next Album Will End TDE Career: 'See You Soon Enough'

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” Lamar wrote in part of the letter. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”
