Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, G Herbo + More To Raise Cannabis Law Awareness With Free Show

Cannabis consumerism is booming in the state of Michigan since its December 2019 legalization and former NBA vet Al Harrington’s Village, the largest conglomerate for Black-owned cannabis brands in the United States is fusing the message with an upcoming free Hip Hop show featuring heavy hitters.

On Saturday (September 4th), Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, G Herbo, Jay Electronica, Chase B, Babyface Ray and several others are slated to hit the Nobody’s Home Music Festival stage in Benton Harbor, MI.

Performances will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. inside the Dwight Mitchell City Center Park.

The fest is curated by Kanye West’s longtime manager John Monopoly and will share the same home base as another ex-NBA vet — Wilson Chandler, whose Nobody’s Home cannabis brand is flag shipping the event.

Even more good news for Hip Hop fans — the event is free.99 for age 21+ concertgoers and an RSVP.

The rap stars are convening for the cause of awareness. According to studies, only 3 percent of the current cannabis market share of cannabis brands are Black-owned and Village and Nobody’s Home are using the Hip Hop synergy to push education on the topic across the board.

Nobody’s Home Music Festival is just the latest succession in Hip Hop-fueled activism within cannabis culture. In March, JAY-Z and his own Monogram brand went on the offensive against “hypocritical laws” and regulations that are no longer relevant.

“Cannabis laws are out of date and disproportionately cruel and punishing when compared to the rest of the legal code,” JAY-Z said at the time. “We still don’t have proper regulation for texting and driving in Missouri, but staying home and smoking weed will get you locked up.”
