IDK has been putting in a lot of time with the various projects he’s working on. He’s starting a new academic program at Harvard University, and was recently signed to the Nike family, among other things. But when it comes to music, IDK knows when he needs to flex his lyrical muscles.

During a recent visit to the L.A. Leakers, the Maryland native decided to join in all the freestyle fun that rappers such as J. ColeVince Staples, and Migos took part in for the popular radio program. IDK went right to work taking on Brent Faiyaz and Drake’s “Wasting Time” record.

“Look at my past, and look at all of the people that I passed/Reminiscing about days they used to laugh/These days I hit 105 and do the dash/On accident, didn’t know this car was that fast/My biggest fear is reaching my limits to go and crash/That’s figuratively, who’s the best new rapper, I figured it’s me,” he rapped.

He continued, “Think about it, most these n-ggas focused on writtens and beats/That’s cute, I do the same shit while running the streets/Running my label, running my staff, and still can compete/Y’all boys ought to be ashamed for mention my name next to who’s in your lane.”

The freestyle made its rounds on social media, getting reposts on various pages such as Akademiks who IDK thanked and offered a job.

“Fire but also check your DM,” IDK wrote to Akademiks in his comment section. “I’m tryna make you a Harvard professor @akademiks.”

Akademiks may want to check his DMs. IDK collaborated with Harvard University to start a brand new music business program for students of color.
