Big Sean is proving to be rap’s nomadic and wayward collaborator of the year given the scope of his winding 2021 feature campaign — which has especially amped up as of late.
The Detroit 2 architect has trekked a rigorous arc of musical productivity before fans and listener’s eyes throughout the year, with collaborations such as his Coming 2 America soundtrack single “Go Big” with YG as well as his Motor City-powered link with Sada Baby and Hit-Boy on “Little While.”
It now appears Big Sean has reprised his link with Hit-Boy for the sake of joining forces with yet another rising Michigan rap star, Babyface Ray, at the Grammy Award-winning producer’s Los Angeles studio. Video footage emerged from the trio’s hard-hitting session over the weekend via Hit-Boy’s Instagram account.
Big Sean’s feature verse demolition week also included his organic collaboration with HipHopDX 2021 Rising Star Yung Bleu for the Alabama artist’s “Way More Close” single on Friday (July 9).

As Yung Bleu continues gearing up for the release of his Moon Boy debut album on July 23, the “Your Mines Still” creator spoke to L.A. Leakers about how his collab with Big Sean was the result of a chance encounter at a famous recording studio.
“Everybody I worked with on this project was real natural,” Yung Bleu began in the clip. “Big Sean, he made the mistake of walking in the wrong studio session at Westlake. He was like, ‘Oh Bleu, what’s up?’ Let’s get a record in.”
