With tragedy striking the Hip Hop community at an alarming rate, rappers have been taking the time to make sure they give each other their flowers before it’s too late. Rod Wave, Kodak Black, NLE Choppa and Soulja Boy have all exchanged pleasantries since April began.
On the heels of Rod Wave’sSoulFly chart-topping album, Kodak Black must’ve enjoyed what he heard because he showed love to the “Heart On Ice” artist with a shout-out on Twitter, writing, “Jit, yo ass pressha!”
Wave responded, “I appreciate dat big bra fasho!”

Rod Wave has shied away from collaborating with his Hip Hop contemporaries thus far in his career, but we’ll see if that changes going forward. His SoulFly album only saw one assist from Chicago’s Polo G and he recently unveiled that he took his verse off Drake’s “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” who pivoted and added Rick Ross to the Scary Hours 2 mix instead.

After being arrested on weapon and drug charges, NLE Choppa gave one of rap’s internet pioneers in Soulja Boy his props and showed his appreciation for all he accomplished in the industry at such a young age.
“Wanna take the time out my day to say I appreciate @souljaboy giving yo flowers while you here not when you gone LEGEND,” the Memphis native wrote.

It looks as if Soulja Boy and NLE Choppa reconnected via text later that day after exchanging a few DMs. Big Draco’s name was trending last week after declaring himself a Hip Hop trendsetter as the first person to make Bape cool. Soulja’s “She Make It Clap” also rose to No. 1 on TikTok and Draco parlayed his newfound success into a record deal with Virgin Music.
