Quavo and Saweetie’s leaked elevator altercation has caused waves online and now, the Los Angeles Police Department has reportedly opened an investigation into the matter.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources relayed the former couple was fighting over an orange video game console box before entering the elevator. The North Hollywood incident took place in 2020, but cops now want to meet with both Quavo and Saweetie separately to get a better understanding of what transpired.

Sources also explained the matter could be ruled a domestic violence dispute where both were in the wrong, but the cops will need to figure out what happened before the footage was rolling to best determine how they would handle charges for the incident.

Huncho and Saweetie publicly broke up on March 19 before the North Hollywood apartment building elevator footage surfaced on March 30. Once law enforcement finishes their investigation, they’ll turn the case over to the city attorney who will then pursue charges if need be.

While social media has had a lot to say about the altercation, both Boosie Badazz and Trouble have spoken out in defense of Quavo this week.
