Nicki Minaj’s reputation sometimes precedes her. The multi-platinum rapper has been accused of abhorrent behavior in the past, including sicking her loyal legion of Barbz on anyone who dares cross her and allegedly bashing a writer on Twitter so relentlessly, the woman started receiving death threats.

During a recent Clubhouse session, newly-minted Grammy Award-winning comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish made it clear she’s well aware of Black Barbie’s perceived unfavorable tendencies.

When someone in the chat suggested Haddish was the “Nicki Minaj of comedy” because she’s “killing the fucking game,” another voice replied, “But unlike Nicki, she shows up on time.” That’s when Haddish jumped in and added, “And unlike Nicki, I treat everybody with respect and dignity.”

Naturally, the Barbz came out in droves to defend their Queen on Twitter, claiming Haddish was still salty about the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. At one point during the ceremony, Haddish cracked a joked about Fifth Harmony and former member Camilla Cabello who was up for multiple awards that year.

“She’s nominated for five VMAs tonight,” Haddish said at the time. “Five of them. I’m super proud of her. So those of you watching at home … Hi Fifth Harmony!”

As Nicki accepted an award for Best Hip Hop that evening, the Pinkprint rapper glared at Haddish and said as part of her spirited acceptance speech, “And Tiff, don’t be coming for Fifth Harmony because Normani is that bitch.”

Needless to say, the Barbz quickly turned their vitriol toward Haddish and reminded her she once bombed at her own comedy show after a heavy night of drinking. While performing at Miami’s James L. Knight Center in 2019, Haddish forgot her jokes onstage and was met with an echo of boos and subsequent walkouts.

Despite the hate being spewed her way, the accomplished comedian was all smiles Sunday night (March 14) when she took home a Grammy in the Best Comedy Album for her work on Black Mitzvah.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, Haddish is filming Kids Say the Darndest Things with Tiffany Haddish when she hears in her earpiece from a producer she nabbed the trophy. She stops and tearfully asks: “Y’all serious? I really won?”

Still, Barbz aren’t having any Nicki slander. Check out some of the reactions below.
