J. Cole fans were shocked when Akademiks revealed YoungBoy Never Broke Again once left him hanging at the studio for eight hours — only to blow him off altogether. But this is allegedly routine behavior for the Baton Rouge-bred rapper. According to Akademiks, he also turned down an opportunity to collaborate with HipHopDX‘s 2020 Rapper Of The Year Lil Baby.

“YoungBoy told me when Lil Baby hit him up for a feature,” he says in the clip. “I remember he told me, ‘Ak, I’m not doing music right now.’ And I remember saying, ‘YoungBoy, if you don’t fucking do a song with Lil Baby, n-gga …’ ‘Cause I gave him a whole list, I remember I sat in the car with him, I told him a whole list of n-ggas who he should do songs with. And I remember him telling me, ‘You know I can’t do a song with him.’ He was telling me all type of beefs, I was like, I didn’t know the beef was that deep. I get it.

“But I’m telling you the facts. This n-gga YoungBoy, he don’t care about that shit. I remember telling him, ‘This is a no fucking brainer.’ And he was just like, ‘Bro, I don’t care.'”

There’s also an internet rumor floating around allegeding YoungBoy turned down $1 million to do a song with 6ix9ine, which isn’t surprising considering the “ZAZA” rapper’s soiled reputation. As most people are well aware, the rainbow-loving rapper was the federal government’s star witness in the case against Nine Trey Gangsta Blood members Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison.

In exchange for his testimony, 6ix9ine — who was originally facing up to 47 years in prison for his role in the gang — was able to skate out of prison in roughly two years but earned the nickname “Snitch9ine” in the process.

J. Cole Allegedly Waited 8 Hours For YoungBoy Never Broke Again But He Never Showed Up To The Studio

Upon 6ix9ine’s release, he was able to snag a then-pregnant Nicki Minaj for the song and accompanying video “TROLLZ,” which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) last November.

Other than that, the Brooklyn native hasn’t been able to finagle his way into other high profile features. Instead, he’s been busy relentlessly trolling fellow rappers such as Meek Mill, Lil Durk, 600Breezy and even the late King Von.
