Cardi B is taking her talents to the silver screen. After unveiling her involvement with the delayed Fast & Furious 9 in 2019, her exact role has been uncovered with another official trailer dropped during the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7).

The Bronx bombshell will be playing the character named Leysa, who is tied to Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto past and returns to make her presence felt in Fast 9. Cardi was initially connected to the Fast series in 2019 when she was seen on set alongside Vin Diesel, who posted a video with the “WAP” rapper.

The 28-year-old isn’t a novice in the Hollywood scene, she starred in the critically-acclaimed Hustlers in 2019 alongside fellow Bronxite Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu.

Cardi isn’t playing in 2021. With a possible sophomore album on deck, Cardi exploded into the New Year with her catchy “Up” single, which should earn her another Top 5 entry position on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fast 9 was originally slated for a 2020 release before being pushed back to 2021 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The updated May 2021 release date is reportedly most likely going to be delayed once again with theaters across the globe not close to fully functioning.
