Forbes magazine ran an article earlier this week claiming Tory Lanez streams are dropping in the wake of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the Canadian rapper’s audio streams were consistently in the 20 to 30 million range since mid-June but following Megan’s confessional on August 20, Lanez’s streams plummeted the week of August 21 by nearly nine million — a 40 percent drop from the previous week’s 22 million streams.
But Lanez is refuting the data, saying, “Lmao that’s such a lie. 40% where?!! I have 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify currently.”
The shooting incident took place on July 12 in Los Angeles following a night on the town with Lanez and Kylie Jenner. While Megan didn’t initially name the shooter, she eventually had a “fuck it” moment and revealed Lanez was indeed the triggerman during an Instagram Live session last month.
“I’m from the Southside — it ain’t like, ‘Let me go run and tell my business to the police, you know what I’m saying?” she said. “I ain’t never been that type of person. But, I’m not gonna let y’all keep playin’ in my face. And I’m not gonna let this bitch ass play in my face either.
“So, since you hoes so worried ’bout it, yes this n*gga Tory shot me. You shot me! And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying.”

Lanez was arrested for felony possession of a concealed weapon following the shooting but has yet to be charged with anything else. The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly investigating his involvement.
