The love for Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx continues.
On Friday (July 31), Nas, the album’s lone non-Wu-Tang guest feature, gave praise to Rae and his masterpiece.
“Yo @raekwon Peace Beloved. My brother. I Salute you on this Classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx aka The Purple Tape,” Nas wrote. “25 Years Club General. You one of the greatest to touch a mic. Great times when @realghostfacekillah and us recorded Verbal Intercourse. This Lp changed the game. Thank you King. Congrats”
True historians of OB4CL will recognize “Verbal Intercourse” as one of the highlights of the album with Rae and Ghostface Killah going back and forth with Nas.
Raekwon Announces 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 3' Album As Original Turns 25
Nas’ praise for Cuban Linx comes on the heels of Rae announcing that a third and final version of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx would be released.
“Twenty-five years later, right?” Raekwon told TIDAL’s Elliott Wilson. “Listen, I feel like Al Green right now, nigga. It’s time we close that trilogy out. Yeah, it’s time to close that trilogy. I was holding all night. I was holding all night back to tell you that. Cuban Linx 3, baby. The trilogy. It’s over after that. It’s over.”
The first Cuban Linx, hailed as one of the best solo Wu-Tang projects upon release, was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in October 1995, two months after it dropped.
A sequel for the album wouldn’t arrive until 2009, featuring Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Slick Rick as well as Wu-Tang members RZA, Method Man, Cappadonna and the late Papa Wu.
Nas’ verse on Verbal Intercourse is one of the best. The way he starts it off is crazy.

If you know anything about Raekwon/The Wu-Tang Clan, you know that the artists you mention do not vibe with their aesthetic AT ALL. Drake/Nicki/Future, etc. don’t need to be on everyone’s albums

GZA had the most slept on underrated verse on that album…I hear yaul on that Nas verse which was fuckin KRAZY!! Hiphop quotable…but GZA ripped that shit as well….
