In the middle of one of the biggest weeks of her career, Megan Thee Stallion took time on Saturday to reflect on her late mother and former manager, Holly Thomas.

Thomas passed away in March 2019 from brain cancer. She was 47.

“Happy birthday mama [golden heart emojis] I miss you every day!” Megan captioned the post. “I know you’re watching over me rooting for me and keeping me going.”

She added, “I don’t have you physically here telling me what I should do so I’ve been trying to figure it out on my own remembering all the advice and lessons you’ve taught me before. You are such a strong woman and I promise to make you proud and be one too …”

Others reposted the photo, including Megan’s “Savage (Remix)”  collaborator Beyoncé. The “Drunk In Love” singer shared the photo to her website with a simple caption: “HONORING HOLLY”.

In a follow-up post on her Instagram page, Hot Girl Meg shared a rare video of Thomas and her side-by-side at a piano.

I was shook I didn’t even know my mom could play the piano,” she captioned. “She was always teaching us something!”

Megan’s mother was also a talented rapper herself, performing under the moniker “Holly-Wood.” Megan has referenced her as an inspiration for her career.

The occasion comes less than a few days after Megan and Beyoncé debuted the remix to “Savage” to rave reviews. The song not only drove an increase in OnlyFans site traffic but also was a dream come true for the Houston rapper, often saying in interviews that her dream collaboration was none other than the Lemonade singer.

In a video captured from a recent Instagram Live, Megan was brought to tears when she thought of what the moment meant for her as well as her late mother.

“My mama was a really huge fan of Beyoncé, she used to always make me watch Beyoncé stuff…,” she says in the clip while wiping away tears.
