Drake and Rihanna both wound up commenting on DJ Spade’s Instagram Live session on Tuesday night (March 24) as Spade was battling Night Owl Sound. At one point, Drake — who was physically with Spade — told Rihanna to “drop R12 right now,” a reference to her long awaited follow-up to 2016’s ANTI.
“They brought a celebrity to the clash,” she replied. “weak!”
Their playful banter continued with the 6 God jokingly telling RiRi she had a “bad attitude.” Rihanna added, “Give Drake some water.”
Drake and Rihanna collaborated on the song “Work” in 2016 and were romantically involved on-and-off for years. But in a 2018 interview with Vogue, the Barbadian singer stated they were no longer friends while discussing Drake’s awkward speech about her at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

“The VMAs is such a fan-focused awards show, so having that energy around me, and knowing the people who had received the award in the past, made it feel like a big deal,” she said. “Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part. I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.
She added, “We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is.”
Judging by their recent IG Live exchange, that appears to have slightly changed.
