Pasadena, CA

Hip Hop artists such as 50 Cent and Lizzo were winners at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards, which were held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday (February 22). Beyoncé also added multiple awards to her collection after claiming victory in six categories.

Lizzo took home the coveted Entertainer Of the Year honors as well as the award for Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album. 50 Cent’s music didn’t earn him any recognition at the ceremony, but his directorial work on Power secured the win for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series.

Beyoncé’s concert film Homecoming and The Lion King: The Gift album helped her take home awards for Outstanding Variety (Series or Special), Outstanding Album and Outstanding Female Artist, among others. Her daughter Blue Ivy Carter even got a win for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration.
