Washington, D.C. – Dave East has told his side of the story regarding a Las Vegas altercation, which led to him catching a battery charge. In an interview with 93.9 WKYS’ The Morning Hustle, the Def Jam rapper opened up about how the incident happened and refuted TMZ’s report about it being a threesome gone wrong.

East said 50 Cent brought him out to perform at Drai’s Nightclub in Vegas and noted there were “mad girls in the club.” Once the night ended, he ended up in a hotel suite with a group of people and things went awry.

“Two of the chicks were like, ‘Can we go to the bathroom?'” he explained. “I was like, ‘Yeah, go ahead.’ But my jewelry was in there. I forgot when I first came in the room, I put all my jewelry next to my bed on a little dresser. So then I thought about it, got up and went in there. Shorty was trying [a bracelet] on. Not on no sneaky like trying to rob, but I’m just like, ‘What are you doing? I don’t know you. What you doing?’ And then her friend caught an attitude. ‘Ain’t nobody trying to steal nothing.'”

He continued, “I said, ‘First of all, I ain’t say y’all trying to steal. Why you say that? Matter of fact, y’all get y’all shit and get out.’ And it went from that to bottle service. Shorty threw three bottles at me, cut my arm, my leg. All that … She done already dialed 911, went in the bathroom, dialed 911. Got the phone on speakerphone. Cops hearing all that. I’m screaming, ‘Get the fuck out,’ all that. So to the cops, it sounded like a nigga upstairs wilding. I was the only one bleeding. My blood was the only blood on the scene. So, it wasn’t nothing. They took me, patched me up, brought me to the little shit. Gave me a battery charge. Gave her one ’cause they just went off the stories.”

Despite all the drama, East revealed he didn’t think much of the incident. But the next day, he got a reality check.

“I thought it was nothing,” he said. “The next morning I wake up, my publicist hit me like, ‘Yo, TMZ got the story.’ I’m like, ‘How?’ But then I’m thinking like damn, yo, me being who I am, it’s so many people I came in contact with.”

The Harlem native recalled all of the police and hotel security he encountered, realizing how many different opportunities there were for TMZ to get the story. He also deemed the situation to be a learning lesson.

“My mistake was even chilling with them in my room at all,” he admitted. “If it’s gonna be something like that, I’ll go to the homie’s room. And if I decide to come kick it with y’all, at least I can get outta there. It all went down in my room, so it looked bad. And then it’s two girls claiming I’m attacking them. So when TMZ get the story, what is one dude and two girls?” [Interviewer responds, ‘A threesome’] Exactly!”

He added, “If I had been naked … it would’ve been a whole ‘nother charge. You not gon’ get a battery charge trying to fuck nothing. Somebody gonna scream rape. ‘He tried to take it!’ You gon’ say I was hitting y’all in the middle of a threesome? So I’m fucking one and just start swinging on the other? Come on, man, that don’t make sense.”
