Kevin Gates paid a visit to the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center over the weekend to spend time with his uncle Lee Lucas and a few of his incarcerated friends, including C-Murder and Mac. Now, that visit is reportedly under investigation.
As reported by WAFB 9, the Louisiana Department of Corrections doesn’t allow sums of over $300 to be brought into the prisons. Anything over that amount is deemed contraband.
Following the visit, Gates and C-Murder posted a photo of Gates flashing several hundred dollar bills, a clear violation.

“As indicated in the photograph, it appears Mr. Gates had a large sum of cash, which is unacceptable, and a violation,” department spokesman Ken Pastorick said. “It is against Elayn Hunt Correctional Center policy to bring case exceeding $300 into the prison, and any amount above that is considered contraband.” [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
Pastorick confirmed Gates is on the visitation list for Lucas who has been behind bars for over two decades. Prison authorities required Gates to sign documentation acknowledging the prison’s policies so they believe he was aware bringing that much cash into the facility was against the rules.

Inmates who work for the prison magazine often take photos of other inmates with their friends and family and then give the visitors copies of the photos, which is apparently how Gates obtained the pictures.
It’s unclear what penalties Gates could face.
