YG found himself surrounded by cops in Hollywood during the 2019 BET Awards weekend. According to TMZ, the Compton-bred rapper was cited for reckless driving and briefly put in handcuffs after tensions flared during a traffic stop in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 23).

The “FDT” creator was allegedly speeding and weaving between lanes on the Sunset Strip while making his way to 1 OAK nightclub for an appearance. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies pulled him over and claim YG became “upset and uncooperative and used profanities toward the deputies.”

YG was also accused of “riling up the crowd” that gathered at the scene. Video of the incident, which can be seen above, shows law enforcement officers and bystanders jawing at each other before one cop attempts to de-escalate the situation.
