Pastor Troy Calls Out T.I., Ludacris & Jeezy For Equal ATL King Respect

Pastor Troy has called out T.I. for suggesting that Tip, Ludacris and Jeezy were primarily responsible for laying the groundwork for Atlanta’s rap scene.

“These faces along with a host of others (that look like US) laid the foundation for the infrastructure/artistic ecosystem you now know as Atlanta,” T.I. wrote. “THIS OUR SH*T & WE RUN THIS CITY,” Don’t get it FU*K’d UP!!! We’ll adjust the temperature to make it as HOT or COLD as we see fit. If we ain’t wit it… it ain’t SH*T!”

Troy says he found the suggestion funny since he appeared on the debut albums of all three rappers. The veteran MC featured on “Get Off Me” from Ludacris’s major label debut Back for the First Time, “GA” from Jeezy’s Come Shop Wit Me (technically Jeezy’s second LP) and the remix of “I’m Serious” from T.I.’s first LP.

“I’m on All 3 of Their FIRST Album…So who am I to This CITY?!!!!” Troy wrote. “I didn’t call nobody to get on they albums, They Peopled Called Me…”Why?” Cause I had this City on Click Clack Lock.”

He added, “My Biggest Regret in The Rap Game was Fucking With Niggaz that wanted my Spot, Because I Didn’t Have To. I needed more Allies to make this ATL Gangsta Rap Scene Stick…So I worked with Everybody.”

Troy also notes “No More Play in GA,” his declaration of war with Master P from his debut LP We Ready (I Declare War), opened up doors for Atlanta’s gangsta rap scene.

“Going At No-Limit Made Our Gangsta Rap Scene In ATL,” he wrote. “Don’t EVER get that Shit Twisted!!! “We Ready” with that Phone Call To P, Opened All The Doors For ATL Gangsta Rap Scene Today…Nigga, I stopped the Tank!!!”

    T.I. has yet to respond.

However, there is a strong possibility that him noting “a host of others (that look like US)” included names like Troy. Ironically, he may not have wrote a list in case he accidentally left someone out and offended them, which happened anyway.

    1. I gotta ride with P.T on this one. Im from Cali, and I heard of Luda only cause he was on Timbo first album. Didn’t hear of T.I until like 2001 and Jeezy after that. We were going hard in the club off of “No more play in Ga” before the other three got hot. Shiiid “Universal Soldier” was what I use to listen to before my boxing matches. Im sure it wasn’t anything personal on Tips part. But PT does belong in the conversation.

    2. Yeah, all of you guys did this shit WAY before OutKast, one of the greatest Hip-Hop acts of all time. Sarcasm. Without OutKast no one would have listened to te south at all, except for Gheto Boys and UGK. Still, Outkast brought the record labels and money, not underground fame. Troy and the three gay amigos here need to recognize the OGs. OutKast’s fort álbum dropped in 1994, 4 years before Troy’s wack ass shit. They were talking all kinds of gangster shit. Shit, their second album dropped in 96, which in my opinion is one of the greatest albums of all time in any genre. ATLiens. Troy’s first shit dropped in 98. They’re all retarded.

      1. Context note 1) T.I. is speaking to the masses with his post. Context note 2) I love ‘Kast. Luhvumluhvumluhvum. And you’re right. They certainly had stretches wherein they were “talking all kinds of gangster shit”. And I agree that their 2nd album ranks among the greatest albums of all time, regardless of genre. — That said, when the masses *generally* think of ATL rap, they *generally* think of trap music. *You* might not, ATLien, but THE MASSES do. To that end, the trap lane isn’t one that OutKast ever completely occupied (though they certainly have a few jawns that comfortably fit). For that reason, T.I.’s exclusion of OutKast is completely fair.

        1. Context note. You’re tripping. Anyone that mentions GOAT status with the south and SPECIALLY ATL that doesn’t mention Outkast is a moron. “The term “trap” is used to refer to the place where drug deals are made. The term originated in Atlanta, Georgia, where rappers Cool Breeze, Dungeon Family, Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Ghetto Mafia were some of the first to use the term in their music. In 1988, One of the earliest records to release was UGK’s “Cocaine In The Back of the Ride” from their debut EP, “The Southern Way”. SO JUST TO CLARIFY SHIT, UGK HAD TGE FIRST TRAP TRACK! OutKast was mentioned as one of the forerunners in the early 90’s. No mention of Troy, or either of those three above who aren’t even originally from the ATL. Study up Ese. These morons are trying to switch up history and put their names on Mount Rushmore in this bitch. Not on my watch.

      2. Wow!??? Greatest album of all time in any genre???Are u kidding me???? Because ur kidding urself thats for sure!!! While I def like Outkast and their overall body of work, it was def not gangsta rap and they r far from greatest.

    3. Tip said those faces along with a host of others PT Didn’t read the caption fully.

P.S. clout chasing is not an Olympic sport

    4. T.I. not from Riverdale, Georgia, Jeezy from South Carolina, Luda from Chicago. Heck Gucci from Alabama. Who’s really from Atl?

    5. P Troy was dope but he never had a fraction of the success of these three. He was an innovator and maybe opened the door for them to have careers (debatable) but that’s a different conversation. I always knew him as the guy that OGs listened to but never got much radio play. Project Pat was another guy I’d put in that category. I don’t see why he’s mad at the post.

      1. You got to pay respect we all know troy laid the bricks in road to gangster music and the atl crunk sound period its not about sells nas sold way more than rakim but hes and ever ny rapper gives him and krs1. Graps kanes ect there just do for starting that shit. Pastor is the governor of ga like like trickdaddy is governor of of florida when it comes to that gangster ? period .

        1. You got to pay respect we all know troy laid the bricks in road to gangster music and the atl crunk sound period
FIRST, We aren’t known for “Gangsta music” We’re known for shake your ass in the club music. Laid bricks in the rd to the Atlanta Crunk scene, NOT EVEN CLOSE, He ain’t known for crunk and it’s a Fact LiL John owns that “Crunk Title” he’s been on the Atlanta music scene since 1997, PT dropped his FIRST album in 1999.
Vica Versa AGAIN was the shit but to label him the king of Atlanta Gangster Rap off of 3 songs, maaaaan please. I could see if he kept going but he didn’t he fell off. That ain’t Gangster. HE MADE 3 SONGS!!!!! Vica Versa was about demons and Heaven and Hell, Not gangster at all. We ready and no mo play in Ga was just about going after No Limit and you can’t F*ck with Atlanta. I could see if he shut no limit down and scared them off, but he didn’t stop no money for limit, he didn’t shut no limit down and no limit didn’t pay him the time of day nor did they give any reaction. I liked his 3 songs, I’m old school ATL, it would have been Gangster to still see him around and going head up with these young Can’t Rap new school Atlanta rappers that all sound the same. But that’s not the case. A legend, like I said, MAYBE…..but legendary off of 3 songs, that’s silly!!

          1. Nolimit pretty much fell off after no more play p did go platinum since then and u crazy troy made gangster crunk bricks ass did trick daddy and jt money did for miami luke and lil jon made club shake ur ass music . give the man his just due not that. This would be like p saying j prince didnt lay the bricks to be a black record ceo independent that open the lane for him or Memphis artis to say 8ball and mjg didnt open the doors or 36

            1. No limit fell off after that track?? What kinda crack you smoking? Pastor Troy hardly generated a buzz off that shit. After Universal Soldier he the one fell off

    6. ???KING TROY YOU RUN THE NORTH SOUTH EAST AND WEST GEORGIA!!! ???THEY BETTER RECOGNIZE!!!?CLIFFORD HARRIS YOU A SNITCH AZZ BIOTCH S.T.F.U. AND SIT YO AZZ THE FAWK DOWN!!!!!?

      1. I’m from Southeast Atlanta, Zone 3 to be more specific, 2 blocks from the Federal Penn. Never seen him in my hood, he DIDN’T open any doors, he didn’t lay no foundations. His first album dropped in 1999. Outkast dropped their first album in 1992, Kilo Ali dropped his FIRST album in 1990, Raheem dropped his FIRST album in 1986, Shy D dropped his FIRST album in 1987, MC Nas D dropped My Cadillac in 1992, Success N Effect dropped Roll it up in 1989. Do you see where I’m going? If you can’t see through the history, then let me break it down. All these old school ATL artists opened the door to ATL’s LEGENDARY music scene history, OUTKAST PUT ATLANTA ON THE MAP!!!! The BEST songs ever released about Atlanta (Georgia in general) and can’t NOBODY f*uck with us was Kilo’s Georgia from his first album and Luda’s song Georgia (then and now). All those siding with PT can’t read either. TI DID NOT say his name, no….He also said “And a HOST of others technically NOT leaving him out. These Atlanta music scene doors were opened DECADES before PT, already established and on the map before and after PT and still breaking barriers AFTER his 3 lil songs. LiL John was already in the midst of Atlanta music before PT so before you compare artist to artist DO YOUR HOMEWORK and research first. Going against No limit is hardly “Gangster” and Pastor Troy making 1 song against them didn’t stop their money or success. Who cared or remembered that beef anyway. All yall young school Atlanta babies need to read up on the music history of your city. If you don’t remember Screaming Wheels on STEWART Ave, know more than 2 Kilo or Raheem songs, know the first Atlanta vs Atlanta artist beef, remember Damage “Can’t get no Lower,” didn’t grow up in Zones 1 through 6 when all the projects still existed and before the 1996 Olympics before the city was “cleaned up,” when the city was the number 1 crime capital of the world for 25 years straight starting in the 70’s can’t say SHIT to a REAL ATL OG. Dropped the Mic and some knowledge to all those who running behind PT like he really did something for the city. He has to go through countless of other ATLANTA artists before he can claim Legendary. A “legend?” Eh, maybe, Vica Versa was my SHIT (In 2000) but Legendary, Nah!!!!! When I get ready to bump Old School, I NEVER reached for or remembered him to bump too. I don’t see or HEAR other Atlanta legendary legends crying. You can’t top or shut any of the FACTS I dropped in this comment down so miss me with all this other outside BS!!!!!

        1. So that mean we can blame legendary rappers for all these transgender rappers coming into the game out of Atlanta if you want to put it like that since they open the doors for EVERYBODY smh

        2. The first gangsta shit to come out atl was the hard boys ghetto mafia Sammy Sam pt fake like the belt he got around him

        3. How old are you??!!! Pastor Troy is fucking certified southern legend!!!!! From AL to the Carolinas to ALL of GA to Florida. Of course people were making noise before Troy and you named most of them but dont get it fucked up for a 2nd though. When Master P and No Limit was blowing up, Atlanta was loving the hell outta them. Troy stood up and said “This is ATL, not the NO” and went at his head. That move gave Atlanta a good national boost because everybody including No Limit was asking “who the fuck is Pastor Troy?” The Atlanta rap scene was poppin but as far as aggressive “gansta” content on the national stage, be honest at that time Atlanta was not getting too much play in that regard. Pastor Troy changed that. He’s a fucking legend, music wise. As far as that street shit, I could give a fuck at this age in my life. Give that man the respect he deserves and EARNED

    7. TI knows his fans white right? no one is digging the this is us BS and hasn’t had a real hit in almost a decade.

        1. Blacks are obsessed with race because white people always do raciest shit and say “black people are so obsessed with race”

    8. Yo Troy you my G… But I’m concerned with your reading comprehension…he said,” with a host of OTHERS”

    9. I agee with pastor troy today’s so called Rappers need need to do their home work before they say the shit they say old school Rappers made classic the we can listen to for ever today Rappers all have the same look talk about the same shit and now the gay rappers y’all letting into hip hop this wouldn’t never happened

    10. I am a Grady Baby 72 from the Westside of Atlanta (Bankhead). Join the military and ended up in Augusta, Ga in 2000. And if my old ass memory serves me correctly that’s where Pastor Troy hails from? The word on the street was he left his boys high and dry? I don’t know because I wasn’t there and I don’t know Pastor Troy from a can of paint. #IJS

      1. All that shit came from Memphis.and it was called getting buck. Not crunk. I fuck with pt. He was b4 lil John.so he made that wave. Thats facts for atl.y they was waiting on outkast to drop some more Cadillac music

    11. TIP is from the WEST side Metropolitan AVE. Gucci is from B’HAM. OUTKAST, GOODIE MOB, SLIM CALHOUN, RAHEEM, SAMMY SAM, they all from the A. ALOT of rappers moved to the A then got HOTT!!!! PT is a hater and should have never went after MASTER P what was the point? His music was cool but not mainstream. MASTER P is a legend and NO LIMIT fucked the rap game with no condom. They were dropping CD’s every week. UGK & 8Ball MJG the best to ever do it. HOLLA
