Lil Wayne got ahead of the NFL prospects game and signed projected Top 10 NFL Draft pick Deandre Baker of the Georgia Bulldogs to his Young Money APAA Sports Agency.
Weezy F. Baby made the announcement on Thursday (January 24) via Twitter with a video collage backed by Tha Carter V track “Uproar.”
“Welkome to the family @DreBaker1_!! Lets Work!,” Wayne tweeted along with the video.
In 2018, Baker won the Jim Thorpe Award and was named the nation’s best defensive back.
“Deandre is a silent Assassin on that field!!” Young Money Entertainment’s Cortez Bryant tells TMZ. “I can’t wait until he shows the world why he’s the #1 corner in this draft!”
The premier full-service sports agency has also signed NFL Draft prospects Quinnen Williams of Alabama and Georgia’s Mecole Hardman Jr.
Wayne launched the agency in 2016. Upon signing linebacker Reggie Northrup as his first athlete, he spoke with Bleacher Report about why the move was important to him.
“It felt like something that I was supposed to do,” Lil Tunechi said. “I also understood that you could actually help these people, these athletes. You can help them off the field, off the court. And once I figured that out, that’s what I aimed to do. Success is promised over here.”

LOL great move, sign to the guy who signed one of the worst deals in hip-hop history. Wayne couldnt even get himself paid by his daddy but he wants to start a sports agency? this should work out great. by the way, is Trukfit clothing still a thing?
Wayne was young when he signed. He reinvented himself and survived when others just disappear. Knowing how it feels to get screwed over but not fail is a trustworthy trait to have in a sports entertainment agency and money management agency.
Why would anyone sign with this druggie? You’re gonna trust this moron with face tats with your career?
