Meek Mill had a lot of time to think about his priorities during his time at Chester State Prison and now, he’s attempting to lead by example. In a recent Instagram post, the Philly-bred rapper challenged his peers to worry less about material things and more about making business moves.

“PSA: 2019 all rappers let’s start having a property and owning business challenge instead of Jewelry jets and cars, keep it up to par but let’s switch it up and level up so we can have money when we 50+ from years of hard work and grinding! Smarten up!!”

2 Chainz evidently cosigns Meek’s sentiments. On Christmas (December 25), the artist formerly known as Tity Boi shared a screenshot of Meek’s original post and captioned it with, “SALUTE! Guess I’ll crank this challenge up @meekmill.”

And Nipsey Hussle is down, too.

As Hip Hop’s pioneers enter their 50s and 60s, healthcare is more imperative than ever. Many OGs of the culture have found themselves in precarious situations and don’t have the funds to properly treat their medical conditions.

More recently, Jimmy Spicer revealed he had advanced brain and lung cancer and was forced to set up a GoFundMe to help him cover medical costs.

By saving money now, those in their 20s and 30s will avoid a similar fate.
