Eminem Reflects On His B-Rabbit Days With Throwback “8 Mile” Photo

November 8 marks 16 years since Eminem portrayed Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith Jr. in the now-classic film 8 Mile. The anniversary was evidently on Shady’s mind, so he headed to Twitter to share an old throwback photo of B-Rabbit flipping off the camera.

“B-Rabbit in the house,” the caption reads. “#TBT Throwback to 16 years ago today. #8mile.”

Directed by Scott Silver, 8 Mile was loosely based on Shady’s life and co-starred Mekhi Phifer, the late Brittany Murphy, Michael Shannon and Kim Basinger. The film opened at No. 1 with $51,240,555 in its opening weekend, which was the second highest opening for an R-rated movie in the United States at the time.

“Lose Yourself” earned Em an Oscar at the 2003 Academy Awards in the Best Original Song category. The soundtrack also included contributions from D12, JAY-Z, Xzibit, Macy Gray, Nas, Rakim and Gang Starr, among others.

It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, selling over 702,000 copies sold in its first week.

    1. If this were like a behind the scenes picture that nobody had ever seen, I could at least see why it was justified to post an article about it, but that is a still shot from the movie that everyone has seen.
