Young Thug appeared in court on Wednesday (November 14) and pleaded with a DeKalb County judge to grant him his freedom. According to Atlanta news outlet 11 Alive, his plea worked. Thug is on his way to being released after serving six days in the DeKalb County jail.

Thug mostly isolated himself during his jail stint. During the first 48 hours in custody, he reportedly refused to eat or drink in order to punish himself.

During his speech to the judge, a seemingly remorseful Thugger explained what he’d learned while behind bars.

“I’m sorry for disobeying the court,” he said. “I’m sorry for disobeying my P.O. and being here again. I just want to be home with my family and do right. I know I just got some many of millions of people that pay attention to me. I live so different.

“These last six days was like the six days where I came back to reality. Like nah, this is real life. I have sons, 10, 11-years-old,  they look up at me. I don’t even want them to think like going to jail — even if you’re able to get right out — is cool. I wanna just grow. I’m honestly grown. I just make mistakes. I’m sorry and I won’t disobey you again. You have my word.”

As part of the conditions of his release, he will have to submit to a drug test twice a week. Thug’s legal team assured the judge they’ve put together a group of doctors and psychiatrists who will treat him daily. If he’s on tour, they’ll treat him via FaceTime.

While out on bond, Thug was ordered to stay clean, but evidently he didn’t stick to his end of the bargain.
