Rumors that Machine Gun Kelly had died of an overdose started circulating earlier this month — and some people actually believed he’d passed away. But, it turns out the “Rap Devil” rapper was simply a victim of the Ligma death hoax.
What exactly is Ligma? Basically, it’s a fictitious pharmaceutical drug.
The rumor is believed to have originated from a site called Huzlers Media. On October 6, it published a story claiming MGK’s manager found him dead after overdosing on Ligma. The article claimed MGK had fallen into a depression following his highly publicized beef with Eminem.
Numerous people on social media posted tributes to the 28-year-old rapper while others were understandably suspicious.
