[This post has been updated. The following was originally published by Riley Wallace on August 1, 2018.]

After a well-received set during the Stones Throw Showcase at the 2018 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, and an impromptu loosie single release “#Neverusetheinternetagain,” Homeboy Sandman and Edan confirmed Wednesday (August 1) that they have a joint album coming this October titled Humble Pi.

The working relationship between the two began with Edan producing “Talking (Bleep)” in 2016. From that point, they started working together regularly. This LP is the culmination of the past four years of knocking out tracks in Edan’s Brooklyn studio.

Along with the announcement, the duo released an animated visual for the LP’s first single, “Grim Seasons.”

This release will mark the first full length project in 13 years from Edan. His last mixtape release was 2009’s Echo Party. Homeboy Sandman — on the other hand — has been active, most recently putting out a series of EPs with Aesop Rock, followed by his 2017 LP Veins.
