9th Wonder Hypes Up Busta Rhymes’ Next LP: “Change Your Top Albums Of The Year Lists”

According to 9th Wonder, Busta Rhymes‘ upcoming LP is going to be a must-listen. On Sunday morning (July 8), the acclaimed producer declared the untitled project is destined to be one of the best albums of 2018.

“Look man…. I’ma say this right now… This @BustaRhymes album bruh? Change your “top albums of the year lists”…….now…for your own good,” he wrote on Twitter. “Good God Almighty…..”

9th followed up his tweet with an Instagram message reaffirming his admiration for the album. He also noted that he doesn’t have any skin in the game, so to speak, since he didn’t do any production for the project.

“I’m TELLING you bruh…..and NO, I’m not on the album,” 9th added. “I don’t need to be on an album to recognize good music. I’m a fan/student/lover of music first.”

Earlier this year, Busta talked about the untitled album in an interview with Billboard. The Flipmode founder called it his “most compelling body of work” and revealed he’s been working on it for the last nine years.

“The only thing I am going to say is that this is definitely going to be my most compelling body of work that I’ve ever put together,” he told Billboard. “I haven’t dropped an album in retail since 2009. I am really proud of this project. I was very patient with it and took my time. Patience was probably one of my greatest weapons when putting this project together, because there was things I ended up stumbling on that ended up on the album years into the recording.”

Busta hasn’t dropped a solo project since 2015’s The Return Of The Dragon (The Abstract Went On Vacation) mixtape. His last album, 2012’s Year Of The Dragon, was released for free on Google Play.

    1. Busta got such a dope catalog. Not sure if I would call any of his albums a classic (maybe big bang, ele or genesis). But what i do know is when Busta is focused and says he’s focused he delivers some heat. When he says he just wanna have fun he puts out some bullshit. Tldr, im excited for this!!

      1. Big Bang is a classic.. doubt he can top that with no Dr Dre production but still look forward to hearing what he has coming.

        1. Respect your opinion, but as far as classic status, Everything gotta be perfect. I know it was a big single and tore the club scene up but “I love my bitch” doesnt really fit in on that big bang album. Shouldve put “Ill hurt you” with Em or “wheres your money” with ODB on instead.

    2. I’ve been waiting on a dope bussa bus album since he’s been getting jerked around in the industry. I can’t wait to hear it.

    3. ill believe it when i see it (or hear it). busta hasnt made anything noteworthy in about 15 years, maybe more

    4. Been patient w the man, and his catalogue has been up and down for me….talented infectious and unique hip hop legend…if he caters to trap music or being relevent to the mumble rap generation on this joint I’ll respectively pass and be glad we had him at all. A respected producer bigging it up has me cautiously excited.

    5. So glad 9th Dumpster isn’t gonna be on there. If Busta also avoids Racist Alan and Dry Statik beats, then he could have a decent project on his hands. Get Dre, Just Blaze, Premo, Pharrell, etc. I know he still got some Dilla beats stashed somewhere that he can use. His last good one was Big Bang and that was over a decade ago.

    6. Man its been a hot minute since we’ve had a Busta album, looking really forward to this!
I heard some dope shit with Kev Brown and Busta, i’m hoping Kev Browns on this with similar stuff!

    7. Busta aint busta without the dreads. Hopefully his shit sounds like his earlier work. Had a perfect producer for his earlier style. Hes a beast on any song tho.

    8. Hopefully he reached out to Roc Marciano for a verse…
Cant praise him at his album release party then not even call him when its time to drop your shit.

    9. Busts knows how to craft a classic album. Get Nottz, Dre, Preemo, Hi Tek, Bink!, Just Blaze, and Pharrell production and it’s a wrap. Sadly, if there is even one trap record it’ll take away from the authenticity and it’ll be a let down. Fans shouldn’t wait 9 years for a mixtape-sounding trap record. Looking forward to this masterpiece

    10. I feel Busta has been waiting for a single to blow up for 10 years…dude’s not a lyricist, so hopefully patience is his superpower here.

      1. that was not Real Talk. Busta don’t need singles.. especially when he can Kill the remix to any single IN ADDITION to giving Said artist more momentum

      1. Dre oversaw that album, not sure if
It’ll have that same feel, but if it’s still equally as great, Ita gonna be dope!!

    11. Busts knows how to create a classic album. Stick with production from Nottz, Dre, Preemo, Just Blaze, Bink!, Hi Tek, and it’s a wrap. Sadly, if there is even 1 trap record, it’ll be a disappointment. Nobody wants to wait 9 years for an album only to get weak mixtape-worthy trap records. Waiting for this masterpiece.

    12. All his singles have been duds and all his albums have long tracks, and also none of his albums haven’t truly been classics, but good solid ones like; The Big Bang, E.L.E., and Genesis. If he does release an album this year hopefully he keeps it under 15 tracks, either less than 5 skits or none at all and stays within the concept if there’s any with whatever the title is. Lastly, I hope Q-tip is the person overseeing this project since his last group album was phenomenal.

    13. Believe it when I hear it ; )
The last album that lived up to its hype was……………………..?????
