Former Talib Kweli collaborator Res went on a Twitter tirade on Friday (June 1) making several accusations toward the Black Star MC, including sexual harassment.
Kweli’s manager and Javotti Media partner Donna Dragotta hit Twitter to speak on Kweli’s behalf.
“I categorically deny Res statements,” Dragotta wrote. “After numerous attempts to amicably and fairly settle a matter between them, Talib was forced to bring a lawsuit against Res for money owed to him pursuant to a contractual Agreement.”
“In reply, Res made false claims of sexual harassment against Talib which we’re wholly without merit and we’re dismissed by the Court.”

During her tweet marathon, Res accused the Radio Silence rapper of attempting to have sex with multiple women in order to advance their careers.
In an email statement to HipHopDX, Sa’tori Ananda — Pharoahe Monch’s manager and Kweli’s longtime business associate — spoke up
“I have known/done business with Talib for over 12 years,” Ananda wrote. “In an industry where nothing is kept secret and everyone knows everyone, I have never heard of Talib using his position of power to try to get sexual favors from women in exchange for career promises.

“I have worked with quite a few woman who worked closely with him as well. Kweli is the type of person who shares his opportunities with others even women he may have romantically been involved with in the past.”
Kweli’s shared an old email exchange from 2014 admitting he tried to kiss her once when they were in a hot tub together in Puerto Rico but he says it stopped there. He also revealed court docs stating Res’ sexual harassment case was dismissed last year.
Res appeared on Kweli’s very first solo album, 2002’s Quality, and was part of the group Idle Worship alongside Kweli and Graph Nobel. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
