Post Malone Breaks J. Cole’s Spotify First-Day Streaming Record

    J. Cole’s Spotify record didn’t last very long.

Just one week after Cole’s KOD broke the U.S. record for first-day streaming on Spotify, Post Malone surpassed Cole’s 36,656,086 streams in the United States and also set a new global mark on the popular service.

Spotify announced Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys LP was streamed 47,930,039 times in the U.S. and 78,744,748 globally in its opening day. The impressive numbers only add to the likelihood of Malone’s latest work topping the Billboard 200 in its first week.

The album is already eligible for platinum certification thanks to its singles, which include the smash hit “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage.

Beerbongs & Bentleys was released on Friday (April 27) via Republic Records. The 18-track project features guest appearances by Nicki Minaj, Swae Lee, YG, G-Eazy, Ty Dolla $ign and the aforementioned 21 Savage.

    1. Y’all do realize it’s just warehouses in India, Philippines China Africa just clucking on stuff & streaming right? Just like the soundscan Hussle buying your own CDs/tapes back to get a deal

Anyhoo penny a stream so congrats don’t think I’ve ever heard one of his songs

    2. Hahaha, take this L, J. Snore! Now watch Drizzaveli break Post Malone’s record with “Scorpion” in June. 7ix God always reigns supreme. Real ting ya kno? #DrakeIsLoveDrakeIsLife #NiceForWhat #Scorpion

      1. And watch you be nothing but a lame internet troll while Cole is living it up not giving two f##ks about a lame like you. Real thing you know? Lol.

    3. Post Malone album was a bit lame. I liked 3 tracks off the whole album. J cole album is good overall but replay wise I don’t think it’s got it.

    4. It’s nothing. People will keep breaking this records as Spotify becomes available in more countries. Especially 3rd world. It’s not because the music is particularly great; it’s because music streaming is becoming more accessible. Fueled by good internet in the 3rd world. KOD my ass

    5. He put songs that was already in the 8 figures on the album so it’s just like cardi it’s not official the big dogs like Kendrick and jcole ignore they certification becuz it’s so much bs behind top dog said in a tweet him n Kendrick won’t acknowledge platinum album unless the money they have been given equals up to platinum sales riaa n billboard seem so thirsty for attention becuz music not selling like that so they be handing out bs plaques to these upcoming rap artist becuz they know they gon overpromote it

    6. J cole only had 12 songs. If you take the average streams for j cole (3 million each song) and multiply by 18 he ends at 54 million. This just further solidifies j cole.
