After a great deal of backlash following news that the film Get Outcould be nominated in the “Musical or Comedy” category for Best Motion Picture at the 2018 Golden Globes, the movie has landed a nomination in exactly that category.

Additionally, Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) for his role in the Jordan Peele-directed film.

Outside of Get Out, R&B powerhouse Mary J. Blige earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her performance in Netflix flick Mudbound. She also shared a Best Original Song nomination with Raphael Saadiq for “Mighty River,” also from Mudbound.
