Genece Brinkley, the Philadelphia-based judge who last week handed Meek Mill a two to four year prison sentence for violating his probation, is being investigated by the FBI, according to a report by Page Six.
The publication cites an anonymous source who claims authorities are investigating Brinkley for her possible connections. The source also alleges that undercover agents have been monitoring the court proceedings in Meek Mill’s case for over a year.
“The feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships,” the source told Page Six. “This is an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand. Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016.”

Following last week’s sentencing, Meek Mill’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, alleged that the judge had previously made efforts to get Meek to drop his deal with Roc Nation Management in favor of someone she knew who was also in artist management.
“She asked us to go to another local manager in Philly who she happens to have a relationship with,” Tacopina told Angie Martinez. “That really, really shows you that a line’s been crossed, that she’s not being impartial, and she’s not looking at this as just another defendant but she’s taking it personal.”
In their report, Page Six notes the individual the judge allegedly tried to get Meek Mill to sign with was Charlie Mack, a Philadelphia-based manager who Meek had worked with earlier in his career.

However, Charlie Mack has denied having any relationship with Brinkley.
“I’ve spent more time talking to you than I ever talked to the judge,” he told Page Six. “There is no conspiracy, Meek is an old friend of 30-plus years.”
A representative for the FBI’s Philadelphia field office refused to comment on the alleged investigation: “Per [Justice Department] policy, we neither confirm nor deny the existence of investigations.”

Meek Mill’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, also refused to offer any comment: “That is something that I absolutely do not have the ability to comment on.”
A large number of fans turned out to show support for Meek Mill during Monday’s (November 13) Rally For Meek event, which took place outside the Criminal Justice Center in the rapper’s hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Meek Mill’s label boss, Rick Ross, was among those in attendance.
“I’m here for one reason, I’m here to support my brother Meek Mill,” Rozay told the crowd. “If it takes Meek Mill to draw this attention, we gon’ use Meek Mill to draw this attention that’s gonna speak for many others … This type of wrongful incarceration has, unfortunately, become the calling card in urban cities throughout the U.S.”
