50 Cent Sued By Photographer Over Instagram Shots

A photographer is suing 50 Cent for allegedly stealing pictures and posting them on Instagram.

Christopher Pasatieri’s lawsuit claims that his photos were used by 50 to promote the TV show Power and products like SMS Audio. He says 50 did so without ever obtaining his permission and that each post received over 42,000 likes.

Pasatieri didn’t specify when the photos were taken, but one example obtained by TMZ appears to be from a June 2014 show with G-Unit (who’s also named in the suit) at Citi Field in Queens, New York. Check it out below.

Using professionally-shot photos on Instagram without permission is commonplace. Many entertainers have begun to credit photographers in the captions of Instagram posts, perhaps as a way to avoid and combat lawsuits like the one that’s been filed against 50.

      1. Watch yourself. I posted something similar on an article in the past that had the same issue with another artist and some dude got bum hurt lol

      1. The photographer owns the copyright. There was an instance of a chimp in a zoo stealing a tourist’s camera and taking a picture, and the chimp legally owned the copyright of the photograph because the chimp took it!

    1. lmao He’s getting sued for posting a pic of HIMSELF on IG? Americans are greedy as fuck. This shit is crazy.

    2. Y’all are idiots. If a professional anything renders their service, and you go ahead and use whatever they rendered, you owe the professional something be it credit or money or whatever.

If it had been a picture of an cat and he reposted it then you guys would understand? It’s the fact that’s it’s a picture of himself that I shall confusing you? Read a book

      1. You are so intelligent in yout own mind thun thun…they are implying how ridiculous it is to be sued for using your own pics, regardless if it was professionally taken or not….that stupid lawsuit is gonna get thrown out of court before the judge even wipes his ass in the morning

        1. I agree. Did he even have permission to take the pic of 50 Cent. Straight b.s. The only way this is viable is if 50 hired him to take the pics but didnt pay for them.
