On Tuesday (September 26), Mystikal appeared in Louisiana’s Caddo Parish District Court to face rape and kidnapping charges. But he made his court appearance without a lawyer, the Shreveport Times reports.
Due to the absence of a lawyer, Caddo District Judge Ramona Emanuel pushed the rapper’s arraignment to November 28 to provide added time for Mystikal to find legal representation. He previously told TMZ that he planned to plead not guilty to the charges.
Earlier in the legal process, Mystikal was represented by Louisiana attorney Kenneth Beck. Beck, who previously filed motions on behalf of the musician, did not appear in court but the New Orleans MC said he has enough money to hire a lawyer.
On September 19, a grand jury charged the former No Limit rapper with first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.

The rape and kidnapping allegedly took place at Sam’s Town Casino & Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana, last October. Two other individuals have been charged following the alleged incident. Both appeared in court again this week.
One of the individuals, Tenichia Wafford, will appear in court on November 28 for an arguments hearing. She was charged with obstructing justice after allegedly attempting to make the victim rescind the rape complaint. Wafford has denied the allegations and claimed the victim admitted no rape occurred.
The other person charged, Averweone Holman, appeared in court on Monday (September 25), but an update on his hearing has yet to be reported.
