DMX recently emerged from a New England rehab noticeably thicker to attend a hearing for his tax evasion case. TMZ caught up with the veteran rapper and inquired about his post-rehab body. He explained he’d been eating one of his favorite cereals — Captain Crunch.
Last month, X’s lawyer Murray Richman told reporters X had gained around 40 pounds. In late June, he was looking slightly gaunt.
According to TMZ, the New York native plans to stay in rehab for another 30 days, although X has yet to confirm the details.

X is facing 14 counts of tax evasion after being arrested in July. If convicted, he could face up to 44 years in prison.

DMX has been plagued with substance abuse issues for much of his lengthy career. As he awaits trial for his impending tax evasion case, he’s been holed up in a New England drug rehab.
TMZ caught up with X’s attorney, Murray Richman, who said rehab has turned the “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” rapper “back to being human again.”

Richman added that X has gained over 40 pounds since being required to enter rehab in late August. X plans on extending his stay another 30 days and is reportedly doing so well, he’s able to take day trips before returning to the facility for the night.
The veteran rapper was arrested in mid-July on 14 counts of tax evasion. He turned himself in to New York City authorities on July 14 and promptly posted $500,000 bail the following morning. After a brief house arrest, a judge decided rehab would be more appropriate.
Richman says he’ll focus on the court case once treatment is finalized.
If convicted, X faces up to 44 years in prison.
