Jefferson County, TX

The Hip Hop community has played a big part in the relief efforts following Hurricane Harvey. In the latest example of rappers lending a helpful hand, Trae Tha Truth and fellow Houston rhymer Chamillionaire brought food and water to a Texas jail in need.

“I Got A Call Sayin Inmates Locked Up Didn’t Have Water Or Food,” Trae wrote on Saturday (September 2) in an Instagram post. “We Pulled Up To The Jail Wit Food & Water…. All Luv… Today Was A Blessing.”

Trae also posted a video of the scene at the Jefferson County Jail. Inmates and volunteers alike helped to bring in a stack of pizzas.

Trae has been at the forefront since Hurricane Harvey devastated Texas, aiding in whatever way he can. The veteran MC was seen rescuing flood victims, including Orlando Magic guard Jonathan Simmons. The ABN leader started a fundraiser too, raising more than $120,000 via GoFundMe as of September 3.
