New York, NY

In support of his new album, The Autobiography,Vic Mensa stopped by Sway In The Morning, where the Chicago native spit lyrical bullets over Kendrick Lamar’s “HiiiPoWer” beat. Throughout the freestyle, he touched on topics like Prodigy’s death, gentrification, fame, Pimp C, the penal system and violence in Chicago.

At the 3:05 minute mark, the Roc Nation signee slides in a mild diss aimed at DJ Akademiks, calling the Everyday Struggle co-host “Wackademiks.”

The former graffiti artist and recovering addict got into it with Akademiks in June, when Mensa was a guest on Everyday Struggle. After Ak brought up the Chicago music scene, Mensa said he wanted to “slap” him in the face before accusing Ak of “clowning” violent situations Chicagoans go through in real life.
